Chi-ranslations

Chi-ranslations? Do you get it? Translations 😉

Because all this started from a love for reading light novels, its time to go back to light novels…
Who am I kidding, I translate just cos I wanted to read the novels the most HAHA

Current Translations:
Dragon Life (in-progress)
– Currently seeking suggestions! (I’d prefer those with a few translated chapters already, or maybe dropped titles, since I’ll probably only translate titles that I enjoy too haha)

So how do I do my translations?
I’m a bit of a weird case since I understand conversational Japanese, while my written skill is basically level 2 at best haha. So I use a machine translator to give me a base to work with (because they have some moments of accuracy, it saves me the typing), I’ve got the raws open, and I’ve also got the translated romaji of the raws available, since reading it out will basically help me to actually figure out what is being said most of the time. I also keep a separate document for names and other nouns, so that at least for translations that I do, I’ll keep it consistent. Where possible, I’ll try to follow previous translators (if any) though.
Although I can’t promise that it’ll be a direct translation haha. I’ll be trying to accurately translate the meaning the author is writing, so it may result in some sentence or descriptive differences, but I do try to maintain punctuations when possible. BUT don’t worry too much, I’ll make sure the sentences all make sense and follow the story. I am not my own writer as well for nothing! 🙂

Want to show your appreciation?
As much as I would like to earn money from this, I don’t actually want to have to receive anything for things which are basically amateur work, so maybe money is a thing for the future (and also for when I can figure out how to even collect any HAH)
So, in place of money, I’d appreciate some nice comments, or constructive feedback is good too! Or, if you are an artist, maybe fan arts of the novels!
And of course, do show support for the actual authors, on Syoetsu (where they post their stories) and on the social media too! 🙂
